剧情简介：
卡洛琳是一个只有十几岁大的小女孩，正如这个年纪的其他孩子一样，卡洛琳对身边的一切都充满了童趣一般的好奇心。因为种种原因，她的父母决定举家搬迁到另外一个小镇居住，搬家对于大人来说是一份相当繁琐和累人的工作，但对于小小的卡洛琳却是相当有意思的一次经历。同样的，这个全新入住的小镇对于大人来说是相当的阴郁和诡异，但这一切在卡洛琳的眼中都是那样的有趣，不论是训练了一个老鼠马戏团的老爷爷，还是整天吵架的怪异姐妹，都成了她探索的对象。但最神奇的事情还不是这些，卡洛琳发现在这栋老房子里有一个惊天的大秘密！原先她曾经数过家里的门，数字停留在13这个最不吉利的数字上。而神奇的是，原来在客厅里还有一道谁也没发现的门。这道门后面通向哪里呢？卡洛琳绝对是个行动派，所以她便走进了这扇大门。
原来在这扇门的后面是一个与真实世界一模一样的“镜像世界”。这个世界虽然有点诡异，但却非常有趣，而且更重要的是，在这里竟然还有一个“妈妈”。这个“妈妈”对卡洛琳也很和善，只不过她有着一双纽扣眼睛。当然，这个看上去很和蔼的妈妈并不是真的好。她不但绑架了卡洛林真正的父母，她更试图缝上卡洛琳的眼睛把她永远地留在这个世界中。不过卡洛琳没有束手就擒，一场人魔大战又要开始了。
