Summary

常和for连用,而cause常和of连用。

② “事业,目标”
She’s committed to the cause of nuclear disarmament. 她献身于废除核武器的事业。
▲the rest(of)表示“剩余、其余”,其用法也有二:
① of后面可接单数、复数及不可数名词,相应的谓语动词的单复数取决于of后面所跟的名词。
②如果the rest单独使用,谓语动词的单复数取决于the rest 指代的内容。

the rest of 的用法与2/3,一半,80%+ of 的结构一致,of 后面为可数名词复数时用复数
谓语动词,为不可数名词或可数名词单数时用单数谓语动词。这样用法还有 lots of, a lot of,
