Step I Pre-reading
Answer the questions about what the students have learned about Freddy the Frog in their listening:
Who was Freddy?
Where did he live?
What did he decide to do when he met his friends?
Step II Reading
Read more about Freddy’s life and then work on the comprehending exercises(Part 3 for specific information and Part 4 for the general idea
Step III Discussion
Do you think you would enjoy being famous now you know some of the problems? Give a reason.
What do you think are the advantages of being famous? Give examples.
What do you think are the disadvantages of being famous? Give examples.
Step IV Reading Task in Workbook
Listen to the tape and practise reading the poem aloud, paying attention to the rhythm.
Find the main idea for each part of the ballad.
