第十八单元
一. 教学目的:语音, 词汇及基本的日常交际用语, 和人称代词的用法.
二. 教学重点:常用词组和人称代词的基本用法
三. 重点难点讲解:
1. look after 照看, 照管
look after被用来表示对某人或某物的精心照料或照看, 有责任或义务使其不受伤害或损害. 例如:
I must look after my old grandma.
我必须照顾我的老奶奶.
2. other和the other
other指除已有的以外, 其他的不具体的人或事物. 例如:
What other things can you see?
你还看到了别的什么东西?
the other可修饰单数名词, 也可以修饰复数名词. 修饰单数时指两个具体的人或事物中的另一个, 修饰复数时指具体的一群人或事物中的所有其余的. 定冠词the具有特指意义, 不能省去. 如:
Is this your football sock? Where's the other one?
这是你的足球袜吗?另一只在哪儿呢?
Some students are in the classroom. Where are the other students?
一些学生在教室里, 其他的学生在哪儿呢?
l 在上下文很明确的时候, the other后面的名词可省去, 复数可用the others. 如:
I can answer this question but I can’t answer the others.
这个问题我能回答, 但其他问题我回答不了.
3. put away 把…收起来, 把…放好
可以说put sth. away 或put away sth. , 但如果宾语是代词的话, 则须说put it/ them away. 如:
Please put away your other books.
请把你的其它的书放起来.
4. in the tree 和on the tree
当表示树上有不属于树木本身的人或事物, 我们用in the tree, 当表示树上长的叶子, 花朵, 果实时, 我们用on the tree. 例如:
(1)Can you see Tom in the tree?
你能看见树上的Tom吗?
(2)There are many apples on the tree.
树上有很多苹果.
5. I (don’t) think so. 我认为(不)是这样的.
这是一句常用口语, 当对方提出一个观点或问题, 你认为是对的, 可说I think so. 如果不同意对方的说法, 可说I don’t think so. 例如:
“ Is this book Mary’s ?” “ I think so.”
“ 这本书是Mary的吗?” “我想是的.”
6. get down (从高处)下来
如果要表示从某一高处下来, 则在get down后面接from介词短语. 如:
I don’t think the little boy can get down from the table himself.
我想那小男孩不能自己从桌子上下来.
7. What’s wrong? 怎么啦?
当我们询问对方某人或某物出了什么问题时, 常说 “What’s wrong?” 例如:
“Can you help me?” “Certainly, what’s wrong?”
“你能帮我吗?” “当然, 怎么啦?”
*What’s wrong的后面可以接with介词短语,典具体询问某人或某物出了什么问题, 如:
What’s wrong with his pen?
他的钢笔怎么啦?
8. Don’t worry. 别着急.
我们劝对方别为某人或某物担忧时, 常说此句. 可以在worry后面接about介词短语, 表示为某人或某物担忧. 如:
Don’t worry about me.
别为我担忧.
9. give的基本用法
give表示 “给”, 当我们说把某物给某人的时候, 说give sth. to sb. 或give sb. sth. 但如果所给的东西用代词来表示时, 就只能说give it/them to sb. 例如:
Please give the ball to Tom. = Please give Tom the ball.
请把这只球给Tom.
Please give it to her. (不能说…give him it.)
请把它给她.
10. Thank goodness! 感谢上帝!
这是个感叹句, 主要用来一件困难的事情终于结束或完成时, 表示一种紧张后轻松的心情. 例如:
My brother is all right now. Thank goodness.
我弟弟现在康复了, 真是谢天谢地!
11. 不发音字母kn, wr
本单元的语音中提到两组不发音字母, kn组合中k 不发音; wr组合中w 不发音, 请同学们注意掌握.
l 提醒: knife 这个词复数形式很特殊, 要变为knives.
12. 人称代词小结.
本单元中还进行了人称代词的小结, 要求掌握.
