Since you are a well-known musician, I’m writing this e-mail to ask you for some advice on how to form a band.
I, together with two boys and two girls in different classes in our school, want to form a band. We are all fond of pop music and modern dance. I’d like to know whether we should play one kind of music or different styles to start with. And is it enough to practise only at weekends? How can we get more chances to perform?

In the distance, and some boys and girls are playing the boats in the lake. They looked so happy. Jack and I played the badminton on the green grass under the sunshine. “大家快看，快看！”不知是谁喊了一声，原本吵闹的声音停止了。一位身穿西装的男生抬着头，挺着胸堂，落落大方地走上了舞台。用一口流利而清析的英文做自我介绍，乍一看，还真有点演说家之风范呢！然后开始了讲幽默小故事，一边讲还一边做着搞笑动作。逗得观众们哈哈大笑，响起了阵阵掌声。
这时，又上来了一位身穿红色斗蓬，手里拿着一根魔法棒的'女生。她先开始了自我介绍，讲着讲着，突然就在“Iike”的后面忘词了。豆大的汗珠从额头上流下，眉头间不经意皱了一下。显然，她太紧张了。台下，几位急性的观众拍响了桌子，一小片吵闹声响起了，演员脸上一片茫然，呆呆地站在那儿。只有一位评委朝她竖起了大拇指，她顿时灵光一现！她轻轻的说了一声:“Sorry。”便继续讲了起来，似乎更卖力了。台下的观众也停止了喧哗。一切犹如刚才。过了一阵子，讲完了，掌声不约而同地从各一个座位上爆发出来。她也不失风度地给大家鞠了一躬……

应用文是人们日常生活中广泛使用的文体。它最突出的特点是它的实际应用性，应用文包括很广，如书信、通知、日记、海报、便条、启事、请柬、电报、合同等。应用文的语言应使用规范语言，重在实用，力求朴实、准确、简洁。
书信我们分为两部分：信封和内容。
1、信封的'写法。
英语信封正面的左上角，写发信人的姓名和地址。在信封的正面中央偏左一点，写收信人的地址和姓名。
英语信封上的地点名称由小到大，视其长短可占二至五行不等。
寄信人只写姓名，不写头衔。但是，收信人一般都在名字前加上头衔，以示礼貌和尊敬。对于没有官衔和学衔的人士，通常在姓名前写上Mr., Mrs.,或Ms.。
信封的写法，一般来说，很少出现在中考英语的作文中。
2、内容。
英文信一般可以分为下列几个部分。
1)信端(Heading)即写信人的地址和发信日期。
2)收信人姓名地址
3)称呼
4)信的正文
5)结束语
6)签名
有的时候，出题者会让考生写e-mail。e-mail的写法和书信的写法基本一致。只不过少了书信在信封上的繁琐。
