寒假，我读了《百万英镑》这本书，使我明白了更多金钱的意义。
故事讲述了两位富翁利用一位流落伦敦的穷人——亨利·亚当打赌，从而使亨利得到了一张五百万英镑的支票。他去了一家饭店，老板见他是个穷光蛋，就让他坐到角落里，可当他付钱的时候，老板惊呆了，老板无法找钱，就让他免费吃了一顿饭。态度也变好了，他又去服装店，小店员给他了一件别人不要穿的又特难看的衣服，可当他拿出支票时，小店员懊悔极了。老板知道后，免费给他量身定做了许多在各种场合穿的.衣服。之后他不仅把英镑还给了富翁，自己也有很多钱，有车有房还有一个爱他的妻子。
当今社会，钱成了衡量一切的标准。这个故事充分对比说明了我们面对有钱人和面对穷人的不同，世界不是应该人人平等的吗？我们说得到但做不到，这不是可耻的行为吗？不管我们如何爱钱都不能失去良知和善良的本性。有些人为了得到钱不惜一切手段，更有可怕的为了得到遗产不惜残害自己的亲人，把自己的女儿违心嫁给有钱人等等。更为可怕的是大部分医生为了回扣给一些有钱人吃不必要的药 ，见到没钱的人，不管多严重的病都视而不见，丧失了良知，在他们眼里钱比任何东西都重要。
我们想得到钱，就应该用正常的途径去获得。
金钱并不是至高无上的！
